What is BSidesOK?

BSidesOK is the largest cybersecurity conference in Oklahoma. Over the last 12 years, thousands of security professionals have come together to learn and share their knowledge. It’s completely non-profit and organized by volunteers who love Oklahoma and cybersecurity.

What is Student Day

On Monday, April 6, 2026, Student Day is designed to expose 9-12 grade students to cybersecurity concepts and career paths, with practical hands-on activities that are fun and engaging. Registration is only $5/student which includes lunch, but discounts are available for teachers to bring their students. Please contact info@bsidesok.com for more information.

For Students

What should I bring? Do I need a laptop?
- Bring your curiousity and eagerness to learn new things.
- Bring a friend.
- No laptop required. We’ll provide laptops.
- Bring questions.
- Your phone is fine. We won’t tell on you. :-)
Who can attend?
- Anyl 9th-12th graders.
- Public school, private school, homeschool, kicked out of school, doesn’t matter. Everyone is welcome.
- Parents & Teachers can come too. Be ready to help.
Is lunch provided?
- Yes! Chick-fil-A will be catering.
- Got dietary requirements? Shoot us an email at info@bsidesok.com and we’ll try to acommodate.
Do I need to bring a teacher/parent/adult?
- No, but if you don’t have a parent or teacher, you’ll need to have a parent sign a waiver.

For Teachers

The $5/student is a problem…
- Totally get it. We really don’t want your money, we just need to ensure that 100 kids don’t register for free and not show up. If you’re bring a class, email info@bsidesok.com & we’ll waive the fee.
Can I bring an entire class?
- Absolutely! Please do.
Who is the target audience?
- We’re designing the content to be both fun and challenging. We want every student to learn, but we also want to stimulate the curiousity and passion of those who are normally bored in class, to show them there’s more behind the curtain.
- Any students interested in STEM, programming, cybersecurity, linux, etc will have a blast.
Can you bulk-register my class?
- Yes! If you have 5 or more students who want to come, shoot us an email at info@bsidesok.com.
What will the format be like?
- If you attended last year, it’ll be mostly unlike that.
- This year will be more flexible to allow the students to explore their interests. We’ll have various stations around the facility offering different things to explore. Each station will have a brief introductory presentation every 30 mintues and a series of hands-on challenges.
- Students will be free to explore the stations on their own. We’ll incentivize trying new things, but we also want to allow freedom to dive hard into a passion.
